Electric City Pizza – A Solid Slice for a Quick Lunch

Generously sized slices from Electric City Pizza in Downtown Scranton.

Electric City Pizza is right on the square in Downtown Scranton and proves to be a quick and convenient spot to get a really fast lunch or dinner.  They are in the same shop as a Subway and feature a pretty extensive selection of pizzas by the slice.

The Hot Wing Slice from Electric City Pizza.

I was in town for business and decided I had to grab a slice or two.  Several people had told me to try the hot wing pizza and I also grabbed a pepperoni slice to go with it.  I selected my slices, the friendly person at the counter popped them in the conveyor oven and handed me my pizza.

Huge pepperoni pizza slice from Electric City Pizza in Scranton.

I found a seat and gave the hot wing a try first.  It was constructed on top of a soft crust, topped with some mozzarella cheese, a few chunks of fried chicken and some buffalo sauce.  It wasn’t anything fancy, but it hit the spot.  The pepperoni pizza was made with the same crust and cheese and featured a slightly acidic yet flavorful sauce.  There was a ton of pepperoni on the pizza which was greatly appreciated.

A look underneath the crust of this pizza reveals that it is cooked evenly on a screen in the conveyor oven.

Overall, the pizza was pretty satisfying and hit the spot.  In addition to being a good place to get a quick slice, I can see this type of pizza being really good to take to a party or gathering because it has a flavor and texture profile that basically everyone can enjoy.
