Zuppardi’s Ships the Best Frozen Pizza Ever!

This impossibly crispy and fresh tasting Apizza from Zuppardi’s in New Haven is actually a frozen pizza!

Let’s face it, frozen pizza generally is edible at best and only serves as a convenience item reserved for times when you can’t get a fresh pie from your local pizzeria.  I’ve had countless frozen pizzas over the years from a wide variety of brands and price points, and the only one that I thought was ever worth a review was Lou Malnati’s Chicago Deep Dish Pizza – UNTIL NOW!

Enter Zuppardi’s Pizza from New Haven, CT (a place that also lays claim to being the “Pizza Capital of the World”).  I had the opportunity to take a New Haven Pizza Tour which gave me a chance to review Frank Pepe’s, Sally’s, Modern, and BAR but many were buzzing about Zuppardi’s Apizza while I was in town as well.  After tasting 12, YES TWELVE different pizzas in one day my stomach just couldn’t find room to try one more so I missed the chance to try a fresh pie from Zuppardi’s on that trip.

Thanks to a friend who ordered up a variety pack of frozen Apizzas from Zuppardi’s and was generous enough to give me one, I finally had my chance to see what the buzz was about.  You can see the various frozen pizza packages shipped through goldbelly here.   Check out my full review, how I baked it, and close up videos of this beautiful pizza in the video below!

So as you can see in my video above, the experience was a wonderful one.  As soon as I placed the frozen pizza in the oven the smoky aroma took me right back to my trip to New Haven.  The trip down memory lane alone was worth the price of admission (had I paid for this pizza, lol)!  Check out the video for all the details and also my ratings are scored below.
For your information, here are the directions to reheat the pizza directly from Zupp’s:
To Serve. Step 1 Preheat oven to 425 degrees; Step 2 Place frozen pizza directly on the center oven rack; Step 3 Bake pizza for 10-12 minutes; Step 4 Enjoy!
